AGMF 2026
The 2026 Austin Game Music Festival offered participants an intensive and rewarding experience combining composition, performance, technology, collaboration, and professional development. Working closely with Density512, participants took part in highly collaborative rehearsals with the orchestra’s musicians and conductors, Evan Harger and Jacob Schnitzer, bringing their original music to life. A special recording session with members of the orchestra gave participants the opportunity to combine their original MIDI tracks with live musicians—an important hybrid production process widely used in today’s game-music industry. Throughout the festival, participants also worked with an outstanding group of faculty and guests, including Jeremy Nathan Tisser, Sydney Kjerstad Zuretti, Jesse Zuretti, Virginia Leo, Matt Piersall, and Thomas Yee, gaining perspectives on composition, production, career development, and academic research in video game music. Virginia Leo also led a collaborative game jam, giving participants further hands-on experience creating music within a game-development environment. Beyond rehearsals, lectures, and creative sessions, participants enjoyed networking with fellow artists and professionals while experiencing the music, culture, and energy of Austin.
